千橙APP：建一座掌上城市
在点评类网站大量覆盖的一二线城市之外，中国尚有大量的本地生活服务沃土正在等待开垦。千橙是由杭州前方信息技术有限公司于2012年3月启动的新项目，旨在成为一个所含丰富的掌上城市资讯和服务平台。
这个名为千橙掌上城市的项目目标是为全国2800个城市提供城市APP建设，为其中7.1亿城镇人口提供本地化的生活资讯服务，千橙想要成为的是掌上城市的资讯与服务平台。据介绍，千橙APP主要包含新闻资讯、公共服务、生活服务和社区四大板块，具体方式是通过与地方媒体的合作开发城市APP，千橙提供技术及运营支持，并在其平台形成统一的数据及用户库。
以千橙与张家界的合作的掌上张家界为例，后者通过张家界日报的媒体优势进行推广，并在客户端引入本地的政府职能部门；而千橙提供APP建设的软硬件及技术支持，并以年为单位向后者收取服务费，除此之外，千橙还向张家界开放有更多收费APP的应用功能如在线订房、订餐等，并按年服务额外收费。
千橙所在的前方信息技术公司成立于2008年，主要为传统报纸提供数字报服务，经过5年的业务积累，目前已成功签约400家数字报客户，有着较为广泛的媒体资源，而千橙的2.0版本自日上线以来，已经成功新签约32家城市媒体。
目前，千橙的主要收入来自于为城市APP提供统一的云服务平台所收取的服务费。接下来，千橙还将利用打通的数据和用户资源库探索本地O2O服务及基于千橙云数据库平台开展的媒体运营、大数据分析等有偿服务，拓宽盈利渠道。
